Why Elope in Big Bend?
You have two types of people- the ones who love to have huge parties, invite all their friends and family and drop a lot of money for a good time and then there are people like you- (yes you, otherwise you wouldn’t be here) Like-minded people like you who are a little more intentional with their time and the intimacy that happens between two people when they promise their lives to each other. The ones who are a little more introverted, not really liking the idea of walking down the aisle while everyone looks at her, not wanting to really fall into the obligations of what other people think a wedding should be like.
Congratulations my friend, you found what your heart’s desire has been looking for. You have found the place where you can wake up at 4 am, get the stellar shots of you putting on your dress and him putting on his boots while sipping coffee then head off for a beautiful hike under the stars. Have your first look at the best Texas mountains (that literally remind me of Switzerland) Big Bend National Park, promise your life to your partner as you read your vows as the sun starts to beam through the cracks of the valley, let us marry you and then go off on an amazingly beautiful hike through hidden local gems we have found. You can spend your day chilling out and hiking, or you can spend your day bouncing from place to place with a nap in between and then end it at the campsite or cabin with a campfire while roasting some sausages and smores and OF COURSE champagne! Then you can top it off with a first dance under the milkyway.

The way you say your vows matter deeply to us. Your experience on your wedding day matters very deeply to us. Just because you chose to do something smaller and more intimate doesn’t mean you should discount the two people’s stories that really matter- you two.
You say, “what all can you do on a Big Bend National Park Elopement?” and I say “You apparently haven’t been to Big Bend” We can visit the white little chapel in a small town nearby, we can visit the freaking HUGE Rio Grande right down the street, jump from little town to little town that has its own stellar places, then, of course, there is Big Bend National Park itself. TONS of breathtaking trails and views that you literally can’t go wrong. This is my second favorite place to photograph elopements and small weddings. Located on the Southwest border of Texas and Mexico the setting is secluded and intimate. The park includes the entire Chisos mountain range and a large portion of the Chihuahuan desert, giving it a variety of landscapes to choose from. The sunrises and sunsets are simply majestic and the
jagged mountains bring a sense of adventure you really can’t find anywhere else in Texas. There are also the ruins of Sam Nail Ranch and Langford Hot Springs near the Mexican border.
The Chisos Mountains Lodge is the only accommodations located within the park and is ADA/Handicap accessible. Surrounding towns offer adorable air BNB’s. This place is seriously beautiful and unique! There’s no other place like it in the US! Come and have a Big Bend Wedding or Elopement

Despite a few hiccups to the schedule (thanks a lot, Texas winds!), Brit was awesome. We've viewed our photos and they are STUNNING! I had no idea how they would turn out, and during the ceremony, I wasn't aware of her at all. She got so many great shots and I'm so pleased. She did a great job instructing my husband and I during photos and encouraged our personalities to shine through. We both really enjoyed the fact that Brit didn't put us in poses, but rather let us do what felt comfortable and natural. I also have to commend her on her skills in getting our young nieces and nephews to sit through group photos. She has kids of her own, and it shows! She did a great job helping the kids see picture-taking as a fun moment rather than a "requirement," which was much appreciated as the kids were definitely cranky and antsy toward the ends of the afternoon.
